My great-great-grandfather kept track of things that happened to him during
the Civil War on the flap of his tent. My Dad's cousin's daughter transcribed
it and sent it to me. Here's what he did.

killed under him. Gun shot right leg, shattering thigh bone. Operation of
re-section performed, shortening leg three inches. Captured and paroled
with the other prisoners shortly after.

D.C. to be in charge of rebel archives, among which were the complete
records, intact, of the Provisional Congress C. S. A.

service.
