Human Resources
SSEC Human Resoures Office plays a pivotal role in ensuring a positive and empowering work environment where diversity is celebrated and every individual’s unique strengths are recognized. Led by Jessica Liegel, HR Manager (Rm 301), and Denise Weidner, HR Generalist (Rm 303), we are here to create and maintain a workplace environment that enables employees to contribute their best efforts while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization. We serve as a bridge between leadership, supervisors and employees, working to balance the needs of all for mutual success.
Employee Guidelines
As part of our commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, we have developed Employee Guidelines to provide you with a clear understanding of expectations, values, and the principles that guide the workplace culture at SSEC. These guidelines are designed to ensure that every member of the team feels empowered, supported, and equipped to contribute to SSEC’s shared success.
SSEC Remote Work Guidelines
SSEC understands employee desire for flexibility with regards to remote work, but also recognizes the importance of in person collaborative interactions. These guidelines intend to balance the two for mutual benefit to the employee and the Center.
AOSS Inclusion Code of Conduct
The AOSS community recognizes that scientific productivity and educational success are enabled by a respectful, professional, and supportive environment. The Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences (AOSS) building adopts this Code of Conduct to foster an environment in which everyone may reach their full potential, whether in research, education, public outreach, administration, or academic studies. The code of conduct applies to all members of the AOSS community, including students, staff, faculty and visitors, regardless of location when interacting with other AOSS community members or as a representative of AOSS (whether inside the AOSS building or elsewhere on or off campus).
Inclusion, Community, Equity and Diversity (ICED)
The Inclusion, Community, Equity and Diversity (ICED) committee works to advise SSEC Leadership concerning any issues that SSEC staff may have in these areas as they present themselves. ICED works to actively promote and advance an inclusive and equitable workplace environment. The committee plays a crucial role in fostering diversity, ensuring equal opportunities, and creating a culture of belonging.
