Under the Hood

RealEarth™ runs in an 8 GB virtual machine (VM) that contains everything you need if you want to run your own instance. It can be downloaded and installed on Linux CentOS systems that support hardware virtualization.  An installation script helps with initial setup.  Contact us if you have questions or run into difficulties.

SSEC operates a core federation of linked RealEarth instances that manage several hundred products, all of which you can browse or access for free.  View our product list here:  Product List

Uploads can be accomplished through a web form or with a command-line script called re_upload.sh.  Newly uploaded products are not visible in the selector until “released” but can be viewed by product name through API.  Contact us if you have questions.
