Henry E. Revercomb Symposium
On July 23 and 24, more than 100 researchers convened in Madison, Wisconsin to commemorate the career of senior scientist and former SSEC director Henry (Hank) Revercomb. Staff from the UW-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC), the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) and national and international partners joined in the two day symposium to reflect on the engineering challenges and scientific breakthroughs over the last four decades in the field of remote sensing. The conference celebrated Revercomb’s achievements and contributions to the Earth and planetary sciences, as well as his leadership on an intricate lineage of satellite-, aircraft,- and ground-based instruments.
