COVID Policy
Current University COVID policy
The University of Wisconsin and associated conference/housing services are working to make this a safe as well as successful workshop. Campus staff are approximately 98% vaccinated. Our validation workshop will follow current guidelines and policies dictated by the University. These include commonly followed cautionary practices such as mask wearing and social distancing, which are strongly encouraged but not required. All participants should be vaccinated. In addition, we are encouraging participants to self-test immediately prior (i.e. night before, morning of workshop) before coming to the workshop hall, so please bring test kits along if you have them. In addition, we are working with UW Health officials to supply us with test kits for the workshop duration. We are a relatively small, tight-knit community and we know you all care about your fellow colleagues. Please respect each other by following cautionary procedures.
If you get COVID while here
As conference organizers, we are expected to have a plan to deal with illness of participants or staff. A small number of spaces will be made available by University Housing for participants who get COVID who cannot immediately leave campus. The guest would need to depart the residence hall within 24-hours. It is the responsibility of the conference organizer to manage communication, transportation, food, and support. Conference organizers will be instructed in how to use the temporary housing spaces upon arrival. We would be able to provide a single room to a person for up to 24-hours until they are able to be accommodated in an off-campus location (i.e. hotel) until they are cleared to travel home (or return home if they had driven to the conference).
If you are required to isolate and an extended stay in Madison due to COVID
For those participants we are sponsoring, we will continue to support your room and board. If you are being funded by your home institution/agency, they are responsible for your extended stay.
