Data Center

SSEC Data Center now providing access to archived model output via ADDE servers.
In recent years the SSEC Data Center has been moving its meteorological data holdings to an on-line archive. The archive started out with just recent GOES data (1994-Present). Soon after, the international geostationary satellites Meteosat, FY2, Kalpana, and GMS/MTSAT were put on-line. In the past month, the SSEC Data Center has now made model output GRIDs from September 1996 to August 2004 available via McIDAS ADDE. Although this data has been available via a THREDDS catalogue for over a year, this is the first time it is available to McIDAS-X via ADDE.
We hope to have model output from 2004 to present available via ADDE servers in the next few months. Until then, the more recent model data is available via THREDDS. To access the older ADDE model output using McIDAS-X, users will need to create a DATALOC entry to the new server on your McIDAS-X client. The McIDAS ADDE GROUP is ARCGRID on server GEOARC04.SSEC.WISC.EDU. If you have troubles getting at the new data, please contact the SSEC Data Center, and we will be happy to assist you.
