Denis Botambekov | Assistant Researcher (effective 6/1/12) I was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan. I got my bachelor's degree in Meteorology in 2002, and then a master's in Hydro-Meteorology in 2004 from Kazakh National University. I worked at the KazHydroMet in Almaty from 2003 to 2006 as a weather forecaster (it's a similar organization to the US National Weather Services). I moved with my family to the USA in 2006. Since August 2011, I have worked at CIMSS/SSEC/UW-Madison in Andrew Heidinger's group. I'm a part of Suomi-NPP/VIIRS cloud mask and cloud cal/val teams. Also, I work on NOAA PATMOS-x and GOES-R ABI cloud mask. |
