Web Guidelines
In an effort to create the most effective Web presence possible, the SSEC Web team has created a set of guidelines for our Web sites to follow. Please note that some of these guidelines encompass rules that are not optional but are required by state and federal law as well as being required by UW-Madison -- in particular, accessibility rules that fall under Section 508 laws and UW-Madison requirements. Required guidelines will be so noted in the list.
If you do any SSEC Web site design or editing, please familiarize yourself with these guidelines.
The purpose of these guidelines is to help SSEC scientists improve their Web pages and set a minimum standard for all of our Web sites. The SSEC Web Team (Tom Achtor, Leanne Avila, Bill Bellon, and Mark Hobson) is available to help any scientist or research project with meeting these guidelines.
