Meeting Fees | $300 per person for MUG Members $600 per person for guests (non-MUG Members) Meeting fees includes handouts, refreshment breaks and Monday working reception. |

Training Fees | $250 per day for MUG Members $500 per day for guests (non-MUG Members) Training fees include handouts, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks and lab. If possible, attendees should bring their own laptop, with McIDAS-X 2019.1 and McIDAS-V 1.8 installed, for training. See the Meeting Agenda for additional information and descriptions of each training session. |

Who Should Attend? | Most McIDAS sites benefit from a combination of programmers, managers, forecasters, researchers, system administrators, and operations staff. | |
Registration | To register, go to the MUG Meeting Registration Form. The registration deadline is Friday 09 August 2019. Check-in will take place in the hour before the meeting. |

Parking | Because parking is very limited in the area around the meeting and training site (Google map), we encourage you to travel by a means other than car. Options include walking, using your hotel’s transportation service, taxi, Uber, or using the Madison Metro bus service (base fares are currently $2.00, campus routes 80-84 are free). If you must park, you can reserve a spot near the Pyle Center in UW Lots 6 or 83, or park in the City of Madison – State Street Campus Garage. |
Lodging and Transportation
- The two hotels below are not mandatory; they are suggested options based on location, rates, and comments from attendees at past meetings. They are listed in order of distance from the meeting location (Pyle Center).
- The Federal Government per diem rate for Madison is currently $127. At hotels that offer that rate, you must show your Federal picture ID at check-in.
Hampton Inn & Suites – 440 W Johnson St, Madison
This hotel is located 0.5 mile from the Pyle Center. Rooms are available at a group rate of $164.00 per night, or the Federal rate of $127.00 per night, for the nights of Monday-Thursday 16-19 September for standard rooms with a reservation deadline of August 16th. Reservations can be made online via the hotel’s Reservations page using group code MUG. Or call Hampton Inn & Suites at 608-225-0360 and specify that you wish to reserve a room held in the “McIDAS Users’ Group Meeting” block with group code MUG.
A limited number of rooms may be available at the Federal rate. Federal Government employees should call to ask about availability of these rooms. You will also be required to present your Federal picture ID at check-in.
Hampton Inn & Suites offers a free hot breakfast, free WiFi, fitness room and pool. Self-parking is available for $15/day. The standard guest rooms feature a clean and fresh Hampton bed®, LCD flat screen TV, coffee maker, iron/ironing board and free in-room movie channel.
DoubleTree by Hilton – 525 W Johnson St, Madison
This hotel is located 0.5 mile from the Pyle Center. Rooms are available at a group rate of $179.00 per night for the nights of Monday-Wednesday 16-18 September for standard rooms with a reservation deadline of August 17th. Reservations can be made online via the hotel’s Reservations page, or call the DoubleTree by Hilton at 608-251-5511 and specify that you wish to reserve a room held in the “McIDAS Users’ Group Meeting” block. There is no government rate available.
DoubleTree by Hilton offers free parking, local transportation, an on-site restaurant with room service, free WiFi, fitness room and pool. Guest rooms feature either one king or two queen beds and amenities such as a 42-inch HDTV, a microwave, refrigerator, lighted bathroom vanity mirror, in-room safe, and a coffeemaker.

Note: SSEC reserves the right to modify or cancel the meeting and/or training sessions if the number of registrations do not meet that needed to sufficiently cover the costs. The registration deadline is August 2nd, and any decision to cancel the meeting and/or training will be made by August 15th. SSEC also reserves the right to limit the number of attendees per site or organization due to limited space in the MUG Meeting facilities (auditorium and computer labs).
