Changing the Amount of Retained GINI Data

Channels 2 and 3 contain satellite image data in GINI format. To save these files, add lines to the /data/retain.nport file. Each line defines the abreviated WMO header (TTAAii) of the product and number of files to retain. For example, adding the line:

This will take effect when the next product comes in.

For the above example TGIE01 10, this would mean you want to keep the last 10 copies of product TGIE01. If you want to be notified when a product completes, add your email address to the file /data/notify.list , which contains a list of mail addresses of people or robots which will be notified that a product has been ingested.

For users who want GINI data in AREA format, construct files of the form area. wmocode. For example, area.TGIE01 . In the file, place three numbers: (starting area number, ending area number, starting area number).

You will also have to put the following line into /etc/system :

This defines the cylinder of area numbers to use. The directory for the ingest should be ~mcadde/mcidas/data . The file RESOLV.SRV should be modified to make names for these areas.
